Children's Fitness
The lifestyles of our younger generations have changed dramatically over the years. As television, computer technology and video games progress, fitness is taking a backseat. Children are no longer out playing all day getting all the fitness and exercise they require. Instead, children are indoors a lot more on the computer or sitting in front of the television watching programs or playing endless hours of video games. Physical activities have been replaced by passive activities sitting in front of a screen. It’s not at all surprising that obesity, heart disease, high blodd pressure and diabetes are on the rise in today’s youth. With the severe lack of physical fitness, it is sure to keep rising for years to come. Our children are becoming unfortunate victims of technology and their health is visbly deteriorating as a result. So how do you put a stop to it? Encourage them to get out more. Get them away from the computer screen and out in the real world. Encourage them to join the school sports team or get out with friends and do something other than video games. The more active they become now, the more likely they will keep it up as time goes by and they progress into adulthood.
